Dr. Morin
Sometimes the most important thing in a whole day is the rest we take between two deep breaths.
Finding the perfect fit with your physician is extremely important. We at DayDreams understand that this is a relationship that needs to be earned through personality, trust, safety and efficacy. To assist you in getting to know Dr. Morin prior to your first visit, below is a brief Q&A about her personal life and her views on esthetics.
Tell Us A Little About Yourself.
My husband Paul and I moved to Central Florida in 2006. We’re originally from Canada, which is where Paul and I met in medical school. We have three wonderful daughters ages 9, 11 and 12 that keep us extremely busy. From soccer, golf and tennis lessons and school activities we are constantly on the run. And, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Over the past 4 years, we have grown to absolutely love living in Lakeland for a number of reasons. First, the community here is amazing – we’ve made many close friends. Second, with the amusement parks and beaches so close, there’s always something to do with the children. Third, we get to avoid the cold winters of Canada!
What is Your Medical Background?
I attended medical school in Newfoundland, Canada at Memorial University, where I graduated in 2000. Prior to my association with DayDreams, I practiced family medicine in Cornwall Ontario, where I saw patients of all ages and with a wide variety of issues. Having previously owned my own practice, I understand the care, attention to detail, and bedside manners that patients expect. And I bring these qualities to my patients at DayDreams.
Why Medical Esthetics?
I’ve had a longstanding interest in esthetics that has evolved over the years. Like many young women, I initially became interested in it to find the best cosmetics and skin care products. Since moving to Florida and becoming a mother, my interest has slowly evolved to a preventive-based focus. In Florida, we are exposed to the sun for a majority of the year. This can cause a whole host of issues, the least of which are hyperpigmentation and discoloration. Given my longstanding interest in the area, when the opportunity arose to partner with DayDreams, it only felt natural. And now, I get to share with, educate, and treat patients in a subject that has been a personal passion!
What is Your Personal Philosophy Regarding Medical Esthetics?
I’m a big believer in the saying that all good things come in time. To be clear, that doesn’t mean that I am not results-driven provider. To the contrary; I love seeing dramatic changes. But I try my best to advise patients that subtle incremental changes over time will in fact produce the dramatic results that they desire – just with less potential for complications and in a healthier, more natural-looking way.
What is Your Personal Philosophy Regarding Patient Interactions and Experiences?
Esthetic medicine is appealing because it allows me to educate, perform procedures, and see results. But, the part of my practice that I enjoy the most is when I get to listen. Every patient has a different story and a different set of goals. By listening carefully and truly trying to understand why the patient has come and what they hope to accomplish, I’m assured of better outcomes. So, my personal philosophy on patient interactions really boils down to two words: truly listening.
Why DayDreams?
Two reasons. First, I have been a spa client since moving to the area. So, I was already aware of the high quality of spa services, the outstanding facilities, and the excellent customer service that has made DayDreams what it is. Prior to our partnership, a medical esthetics practice in a true spa setting was something that neither the Brandon nor Lakeland areas really had. That’s since been changed.
Second, Daydreams is a locally-owned, non-franchised business. This allows me flexibility to run the practice the way that I see fit. From the products that we use to the manner in which a patient checks out, I have worked in conjunction with DayDreams to develop protocols and source products that I know my patients appreciate. And if something isn’t working as well as I’d like, we think it through and then change it. Put simply, my partnership with DayDreams allows me to easily build a practice that truly puts the patient first in an actual spa setting; a real medspa!
